It is easy to learn how to install a bathroom vanity. Replacing an old bathroom vanity will give your room a new look. When choosing a new unit look for quality construction and buy the best that you can afford. Buy moisture resistant finishes and make sure the vanity goes with the design and style of your bath. Avoid doors that are painted on one side because these types of cabinets are more likely to warp.

This project can be done in an afternoon. Before you get started make sure you take proper measurements. Measure the width and height. Remove doors before installing to prevent damage.

1. Mark the stud locations on the wall.

2. On the back of the unit measure the pipe holes and then cut them out.

3. Slide the unit into position.

4. The back of the cabinet should be flush against the wall.

5. Use a level. If the cabinet is not level place a wooden shim underneath.

6. Drive 3” screws through the nailer at the stud locations marked on the wall.

7. Check again to make sure cabinet is level then trim wooden shims at the edges.

8. Use caulk along gaps between the cabinet and the wall.
